At Star Plus Property like to think of Patong as the “Beating Heart” of Phuket, and for good reason. As the first part of the island to be developed for tourism, Patong has a long and rich history, and has grown and evolved over the years to become the bustling, vibrant destination it is today.

In the early days of Phuket’s tourism industry, Patong was a small fishing village, with a quiet and laid-back atmosphere. However, in the 1970s, with the opening of the first hotels and guesthouses, the area began to transform into a popular tourist destination.

As more and more visitors began flocking to Patong, the area continued to develop at a rapid pace. New hotels, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues sprang up, catering to the growing number of tourists.

Despite its growth and development over the years, however, Patong has managed to retain much of its original charm and character. Many of the older buildings and businesses that were established in the early days of tourism are still standing, and give visitors a glimpse into the area’s rich history.
